The 11th annual Muse and the Marketplace literary conference will be held May 5-6th, 2012 at the Park Plaza Hotel in downtown Boston. It will have two keynote speakers in 2012. The “Muse” keynote on Sunday, May 6, will be Julia Alvarez. Our “Marketplace” keynote on Saturday afternoon, May 5, will be Richard Nash.

Newburyport Literary FestivalNewburyport Literary Festival

Schedule: Late April

Founded in 2005, the Newburyport Literary Association Inc. has hosted six literary festivals in Newburyport and is currently working on the seventh. Its mission is to encourage the reading and examination of books and to celebrate that experience with readers of all ages and all economic circumstances and to introduce the authors who create those works.

Salem LIterary FestivalSalem Literary Festival

The Salem Literary Festival was founded in Salem MA in 2008, and brings authors, workshops, and events for writers and book lovers to venues around downtown one weekend each year.

Boston Storytelling Festival

Schedule: Late April

The inaugural Boston Storytelling Festival in 2012 featured a variety of storytelling experiences — from workshops to traditional and contemporary storytelling to slams: the works. These events appeal to all ages and are accessible to everyone who has ever been intrigued by
storytelling.
